Day's end

We've made our way to the foot of the Steens Mountain, in the SE corner of Oregon. It's the highest place in Oregon accessible by car, at almost 10,000 feet, very remote and rugged. We've been here a few times before. Leaving our little camper behind, we are planning on driving the almost 60 mile loop on the mountain tomorrow, hoping to see wild horses on the south side. Golden Eagles reside here, and Antelope; maybe we will see them too.
Tonight we drove up from our campsite to watch the sunset, but then the moon took center stage. John is in the first extra; I'm thankful he likes what I like. Then a shot from the car of an earlier forest fire aftermath.
It's been a most wonderfully varied journey so far.
