About to turn

Thomas Balch

A favorite place to visit: the Balch Library in Leesburg. Besides having tons of old maps, genealogical records, tomes of local and regional history, and well-attended (in normal times) lectures, it's a lovely building. These days it's open only by appointment during curtailed hours, but one can still sit anytime by the tucked-away fountain. Which is what I did today, when the sun was just about to set.

It's been a golden day and a quiet one, spent largely indoors. Happily the beautiful weather should continue and I'll try to get outside tomorrow. W. returns from TN on Sunday.
