wild & precious life

Peaceful space

Thanks to blip friend @60plus, today we visited this amazing jewel of a place! Conishead Priory just south of Ulverston.

Once a monastery, then a private home, a hotel, a holiday retreat for Durham miners, a wartime hospital...and now (since 1976) a Buddhist centre where 'everyone is welcome'.
We visited the temple for world peace, the shop & cafe (shown in the blip) and then walked through the beautiful woodlands to the beach (see extra).

Looking out over Morecambe Bay through our binoculars, we could spy Lancaster University, where our daughter is studying, and the Ashton memorial.

Today we also received news that the University's Philosophy Society had awarded her first place in The Graham Williamson Essay Prize for her essay on 'Moral Responsibility for Health-Related Behaviour and the Implications for Public Health Policy'.

We have such clever daughters & we are very proud parents.
