Rosedale Stone Kilns

A much better day than forecast. Having sorted some jobs at home we decided on a trip into Rosedale. The walk along the Old railway lIne gives plenty of photographic opportunities. The main is the derelict stone kilns where the iron stone was roasted to remove impurities and got rid of some impurities before being transported to the blast furnaces.

The extra is the view towards the head of Rosedale which can be circumnavigated by bike or on foot. We often drop down to Dalehead farm for refreshments but turned back before we reached the path today.
