First walk on the beach

The boy has been with 7 months tomorrow. Which is hard to believe... he came to live with us 2.5 weeks before lockdown. It feels like the time has gone so quick, but yet what a journey it’s been with the world we are in right now.

He has come on leaps and bounds and we absolutely adore him. He’s very different to our other border who we lost last November, but that is a good thing. We are having a completely different adventure with him. He’s a very funny boy. He loves his sticks, water and mud! He is very much a rural dog and it really is a good thing that we’re in a village.

Today we took him to the beach for the first time as we’re in to October and the beaches are dog friendly again. He loved it, he ran and ran to his hearts content, through the water, across the sand. Having the best time. We had the beach pretty much to ourselves because of the weather and that was great for him. I needed the walk too, work was pretty stressful on Friday.

I’ve been back at work since September and what a strange time we’re in. So many guidelines to follow. No wandering around the classroom, one way systems, masks, hand sanitiser, social distancing. Things you didn’t expect to have to remind students about! But it’s good to be back and they have been brilliant!
