Ferry Lane, Dawes Point

The uneven paving and narrow thoroughfare drew me in, but the plaque a little way down was strangely apt. The first victim of Sydney’s bubonic plaque outbreak in 1900 lived at number 10. Arthur Payne, his family and neighbours were sent to the Quarantine Station at North Head, now a luxury hotel.

Thanks for hosting Marlieske.
