Under attack

Our grass was bascially dead by the start of spring with large patches of mud.  We now think this was down to leather jackets in the soil eating the roots.

Our garden has been full of crane fly recently, so we think we could have problems again.  We have been trying various things.  Myself and the local hedgehog have been out to deal with some crane fly as they hatch (seems squished ones are fab food for a hedgehog), we have been cutting the lawn quite often to suck up eggs on the soil and we now have these guys to help.   Hopefully we will still have grass in the spring.

Another wet day here, at least the plants have had a good drink after being dry for soooo long but we do have enough for a while now, it can stop.
