Spring...

.......................in Colour

On our way to checkin for the Cook Strait ferry we drove to Wellington’s beautiful Botanical Gardens.

The hot house orchids were in full bloom and we discovered a handful of perfect water lilies flowering too.

The tulip beds were providing a great display of colour and spring beauty. It was worth returning to photograph them.

Fortunately today’s wind continued from a northerly direction which meant the  water in the Cook Strait was only choppy and not rough. Quite a different story when the wind is blowing from the south.

It’s now past midnight and it’s been a long day. I will add extra photos tomorrow, but for the moment enjoy this colourful display of tulips in NZ.

EXTRA PHOTOS - added the following day.
1 - A glimpse of the sounds which is the route taken by the ferry between Wellington and Picton
2 - The Interislander berthed in Picton. We travel by the BlueBridge as passengers can remain on deck until the ship has almost docked at the wharf.
