Frozen green peppercorns

Fresh peppercorns are really hard to find, but well worth the effort trying. They are unripened black peppercorns and have a beautiful, subtle grassy flavour with a hint of lime. I use them in Thai curries and in pepper sauces for meat.

The only place I know where you can buy them is in the Chinese greengrocer with the white pillars outside, half way along Gerrard Street.

I got them home yesterday then froze them immediately. They ripen very quickly.
