What a difference half an hour makes

First day of my limited walking workshop, and with a forecast of a dry morning, but a wet afternoon, we headed over to Lanthwaite woods at Crummock water. The rain was forecast to come in around 3pm, so we thought we'd get much of the day dry and fine.

How wrong a forecast can be, at 11.30 it started to drizzle, by 12.30 it was raining pretty hard. The left hand photo shows the view to Rannerdale Knotts at 12.58, (we were sheltering under a tree), and we were contemplating retiring to a tea room. The right hand of the photo was taken at 1.18 - only 20 minutes later, and the good weather stayed through most of the afternoon. The extra is a multi exposure (9) with a big stopper filter, totalling 4 minutes exposure.
