First Spring sighting

The last time we went to the beach house was shortly after the country came ouy of lockdown; at the end of May. Fairly much at the last minute, we decided to drive up to see what has to be done; Fortunately less than I feared. We do need a builder to repair the holes in the ceiling of the study and the lower level bathroom. Holes made to repair pipes. The garden needs attention ++. But is full of spring colour such as today's extra.

Went to the north end of Snells Beach just before starting back to Auckland, as I thought that the tide and the wind might discourage them being at the Southern end at that time. Them are the Kuaka (godwits). They have been back from the far northern hemisphere for about four weeks, but the30 or so on the beach this evening were the first I've seen this Spring.
