Bucksburn

The only photo I took today, a street in the Aberdeen suburb of Bucksburn. L takes up his new post shortly and had set up several flat viewings in this part of the city.
He made some interesting comparisons with the same process in Saint Andrews. In the Fife University town flat hunting was a case of choosing the least bad and if something vaguely fitted the bill, even if it needed a lot of cleaning, you grabbed it there and then. Yesterday the various letting agents were very much on the back foot asking if there was anything missing that he needed and saying that rent was negotiable (downward) from that initially advertised. Still quite a lot for a small flat -I thought-  and no longer a student he will also face council tax for the first time too.

I couldn't help thinking it will be a strange experience going to a new job in a new town under all the current restrictions. He has studied hard this last few years and this is another big step. He seems to be taking it all in his stride.

I have just realised upon geotagging this image, I was parked on a bridge over a small burn (stream) and it is the "Bucks Burn"

It was quite a long day of driving.
