In the middle

I complained about yesterday's photo being dull, so I went out and got a good one today. I noticed this tree a few days ago. It's on the grounds of an elementary school's playground. I didn't want to go there on a school day, even though I don't know if schools are in-person or virtual here.

Since today's Saturday, I ventured in. This tree is at peak. The trees in the hills are getting closer. If the weather is nice, I plan to visit a state park on a day off to see the leaves.
