The Absence of Dawn

This has been the kind of autumn day that makes me feel sad. The lights have had to be on all day, because the day failed to dawn. A grey, damp twilight persisted, with the kind of rain that makes little positive difference to the reservoirs, as its purpose seems to be to make the lives of humans miserable.

I usually walk for around 60-90 minutes daily but managed only 20 minutes, around the village and past the Dallington Almshouses where the Russian Vine provided some brightness as it flames autumn red.
