Autumn is making herself felt.

The time of gradual deterioration is all around. These cardoon seed heads look fantastic and very autumnal in the vegetable garden.

I thought today was going to be the day I recorded no sightings of swallows but towards the end of the day above fields south of Winchester I saw some still here.

A week tomorrow my chimney gets swept, I'm beginning to wish I'd arranged it earlier!
