Hobbs's Run

Centennial Glen

This part of the Kanimbla Valley is referred to as Centennial Glen. It is presently a section of national park, is of particular scenic value and a nationally important location for the sport of abseiling.

Blackheath (a short distance away) lies on a narrow ridge of land out of sight to the right. Unfortunately the great western highway is due for a massive upgrade to better cope with high speed commercial road transport through the Blue Mountains. Unfortunately Blackheath is in the way.

Rather than cut the village in two and/or resume many private properties within the town, an alternative route has been suggested, involving an elevated motorway which may wind through part of this location. To say the least, this subject is extremely controversial.
