Glenbow Ranche

I took this photo on Sunday. With over 3200 acres of fescue along the Bow River just north west of Calgary, Glenbow Ranche was donated by the Harvie family and is a now a provincial park. It has many of the old farm buildings, an old mining building along the CP rail as well as the shells of several abandoned old cars. It has miles of walking and hiking trails, bike trails and an interpretive centre along with interpretive signs about wild life and plants. It’s a gem practically right in the city. (And the mountain views are spectacular to the west while the city views and Canada Olympic Park can be seen looking east.)

It snowed on and off all day yesterday so we took the kids to the Spark Science Centre and had a fabulous day doing experiments and watching demonstrations and making crafts

We are off on our 8 hour drive to the Shuswap this morning...it is not snowing in Calgary but I am not sure what the mountains will bring
