Lost and found

Another bus-less bus pass walk today, and like last week we got soaked when the forecast light showers turned heavy almost as soon as we started the walk.  Lots of autumn colours up in St Ives Estate now, and we spotted this little dog running alone around the pond with no owner in sight.  When we had completed our circuit we found the little chap sitting by a parked car.  As the estate was busy today we were worried he would run into the road, so managed to get hold of him, and AuntieP rang the number on his collar.  He was called Archie, and the owner said he had been spooked by a galloping horse on the bridleway and had run off.  He was very cute, and very pleased to see his owner turn up to collect him!  We then trundled off back to the village, as once again it was too wet to sit outside at the cafe.  Back in the village the rain stopped!  Saw our Rector returning from a walk, and met his new puppy Penny - very excitable, and trying to be brave when standing near a dog about 10 times her size - she gave a few puppy barks, and the older dog just looked at her in disdain.  Apparently she had been terrified by the garden bins being moved earlier in the morning!  All new experiences, for a little pup.   :-))
