Down to the wire

Woke up to another lovely sunny morning....after a somewhat disturbed night, culminating in the binmen lol!

After a quick chat this morning we were up and ready to drive to Derby House, a small retail outlet about a half hour drive from home. They have a lovely little cafe and we wanted to book a table for next week, this morphed into me booking a table on line for brunch this morning :-)

We had lovely poached eggs on sourdough toast with a rasher of their local bacon, very yummy! We had flat white coffees and shared one of their freshly baked scones, which were tantalisingly placed on their countertop under our noses, they smelled divine! We did share one between us...not quite so bad!

Todays blip is the only photo ive taken, it was our view as we ate, looking across towards what I think is Beacon Fell Country Park. If you look closely you can see the tops of the lamp posts.....they are actually on the M6, which is nicely hidden amongst the trees.

After we finished brunch we went for a look around, nedding, lcothes, you name it, they have it....someone bought a new jumper sshhh!!! We also bought some fresh produce from their shop.

We also popped to Dunelm Mill to look at chairs for our study, think we've found one!
Also called into Next to look at their chairs again and lastly a lighting store, as I want new fittings/shades for the hall stairs and landing!

We have had the chicken breasts we bought this morning for dinner, coated in a chilli ginger and lime glaze, with asparagus and side salad. They were very tender & tasty!

A bit of a stand off going on between the Government and GM Mayor as to which Tier we belong in......not sure where I stand on it really. Pluses and minuses for both courses of action.....going to go down to the wire I feel!

Hope youre all keeping safe
