Feathered Friend

Slept like the proverbial log, didnt wake at all until 7.15 :-). Dozed and lazed a while, then popped downstairs to make a brew, put some laundry on, then back to bed for an hour....listened to the radio whilst planning our day.

It was a lovely sunny morning, but by the time we were up and ready it had started to cloud over......I asked hub to put up the whirly bird air dryer in thr garden so I could peg out the washing. He. went out then called to me from the garage, "its raining"!!! Needless to say the washing ended up strewn around the house, which I hate :-/ Dont like to leave the tumble dryer, as we were off out.

Walked into town, decinitely colder than yesterday. Just as we got into toen we could see a large crowd of men, stood outside one of the pubs.....very few masks, all within a couple of feet of each other, obviously waiting to go inside to watch the Merseyside Derby!!!
Beggars belief that grown men do not get this!
Shortly afterwards we heard a loud cheer go up as the doors were opend and they all trooped inside.....I did see someone taking customers details, or at least thats what it looked like!

We called into the butchers, all orderly in the town, as usual......then a couple of oer quick pit stops before headig to Costa for our coffee & bacn roll, our Saturday treat :-)

We bought a couple of largish plastic storage boxes with clip on lids.....needed for an indoor task later this coming week, as the forecast isn't great.

The drizzle didnt amount to much as once back home we decided to have an hour or so in the garden. Lots of leaves to collect up, some more cutting back and a little weeding. An hour and a half soon disappeared.

Todays little beauty was flitting back and forth whilst we were in the garden. I have a little plate near the arbour, which I keep topped up with water, mainly for ground creatures, but this little robin likes to have a paddle in it ;-)
The sun put in an appearance during the late afternoon providing some nice light. I am rather pleased with this shot. Luckily for me, I had taken my camera out into the garden ;-)

Cleared everything away, then indoors to prepare this evenings meal, chicken chasseur with potatoes and asparagus. We agreed that we would have this, this morning, as we haven't had it for a long while. Just finished, we really enjoyed it!

Had a nice long chat with youngest son before dinner, they are locked down for 4 weeks being part of the Liverpool city region :-( DiLs new job hasnt worked out, not advertised as a Call Centre role, but was. The good news is she has already got something else much more like what she wants and starts next week :-)

Looking forward to the first Strictly tonight. hope it holds up ok with all the restrictions, fingers crossed!

Hope you're all safe, well & enjoying your weekend.
