good morning canary

tea

my mum bought me a teapot to take up to University in 1979.
i was so upset when i chipped the spout a couple of years ago.
the same potter was still making them 40 years on, so this is the new one.
sadly i think i got one of the last ones he made.
i shall be very careful with it.

i have several casserole dishes & herb pots that he made too, and a lovely big bowl.  an old school friend gave me 2 dishes as a wedding present - thank you Joanna Hogg.

my favourite tea at that time:
a heaped teaspoon of jasmine tea
some orange quarters added to the pot

i found the teacup in Singapore,
and the shell on the beach below our home.

p.s. i have since found out that the potter, Richard Batterham, has retired.
