Coos!

A damp chilly start to Sunday
BF walked over by Crieff, through the lovely park , over to Glenturret distillery lots of renovation going on with new owners in Scotland’s oldest working distillery, onwards over the bridge crossing the River Turret which flows into the River Earn in Crieff
We tramped up the hill behind the Crieff Hydro Hotel, had a cup of hot chocolate to warm us up from the flask BF had kindly brought.
By this time the drizzle has started cloud was very low,, climbing to the top of the Cnoc the high point about the town cloud had gathered lower!
Undeterred we walked on down through the grounds of the hotel & through the streets into the town centre, padding magnificent mainly 19th & early 20th century homes, admiring the gardens particularly the autumn colours!
Had our picnic back in garden at home it’s been a tad wet to sit and munch!

I should explain my blip ...... Crieff was the town that had an important cattle market in days gone by, the drovers ( Cattle men) walked their Highland cattle from all corners of the Highlands and Islands over land and sea to Crieff in October to sell and purchase also. There must have been a few tales told & a few pints & drams supped in the days of the sale!

Forecast is heavy rain tomorrow , not had rain for a couple of weeks!

A grand day indeed!
