A day in Ascot

Steve and I watched the 2.05 and the 2.40 today, and this is Ruby Walsh on his way to winning the 2.05 on Rocky Creek.

We placed small bets on the 2.40 race, and my choice finished last.

We then continued our walk across the racecourse to the Ascot United football ground, and watched an exciting FA Vase cup match. Ascot United has never made it to the last 16, and they were up against Newport (Isle of Wight). They fell behind a goal, their player manager was sent off, and it looked tough out there. The 10 men equalised before half time, but then fell behind again.

Time was running out ...we were deep into injury time when their efforts paid off with (click on the link) a brilliant equaliser. Pandemonium!

We then realised that the game would go to extra time, but not penalties. Extra time came and went without a further goal, and the 10 men had earned a replay.

Come along on Tuesday!
Ascot United is the website link for the club, and for the moment it features my very own photo and gives credit to me. How sweet is that?!
