Lapwing

Not a big flock of lapwings .... keeping my distance I thought I could see three of these lovely birds. Two were sitting down on the stony bank so only head and shoulders were visible and this fine fellow was pacing across the grass.

I knew that walking across the grass would spook them so my shot had to be taken on almost full zoom .... lapwings don't sit and pose unlike the regular inhabitants of the Heritage Park Loch.

Made a start on the leaves but it was short lived as the rain came on and gathering up soggy leaves can wait another day.
