The Anne

We took a cruise down the Cape Fear River today and this was docked at one spot.  Apparently it is a sailboat that has sailed for over 3 consecutive years (years ago in the 70s).  It's owner built it himself and it was quite sea worthy as it was flipped over in a storm and flipped back upright on its own.  At least that's how the story goes.  The weather continues to be beautiful and the city is a fun one to explore.

At one time, the Cape Fear River was the site of major rice growing paddies.  I.e., Carolina rice.  We were told that the ocean flowing into and diluting the fresh water with salt made it impossible to keep the rice alive.
