In between

Trees with red leaves, trees with yellow leaves. But not too many like this with orange leaves. This tree is hidden just behind the Promenade. It is a favourite of the Waxwings if they visit us in the next month or two.

The Photos App on my iPad likes to remind us of where we were on this day in previous years.

It tells us that in 2012 we were in Vienna. It was a city we had always wanted to visit. With its music, architecture, history and Vienna Woods it did not disappoint.

We went by train with just a rucksack each. Got on the train at Arnside station at 8.30a.m. And with a sleeping compartment from Cologne we got off in Vienna at 8.30a.m. the following morning.

Much more exciting than being locked up in a metal tube in the sky.
