2nd stage tank

Very unclear how it got here, in a location not usually associated with the programme. It appears to have been partly buried and then partly disassembled. The chemical agent monitor I carry with me registered no trace of the special fuel, and radiation levels were not elevated, so I assume that this was an unused – perhaps never completed? – example. Perhaps it was a prototype, or perhaps surreptitiously acquired by one of the engineering staff. The latter seems implausible but controls were extremely lax in the later stages of the programme after the attempted takeover, and salaries were not always paid on time or even at all: perhaps this was 'borrowed' in lieu of unpaid wages?

It is hard to see what use it could have been however: why bury it in woodland? What was being stored in it? Probably we will never know.
