Lathyrus Odoratus

Common Stinkhorn

A nice find this morning on my walk, in unfamiliar territory, with the spaniel. The sticky green gleba have been consumed by insects revealing the honeycomb structure underneath. I think most of the smell is also associated with the gleba as the odour coming from the remaining structure seems much reduced. In the afternoon a walk with my daughter down to the church of St Margaret of Antioch at Binsey (the well in the churchyard being the inspiration for the treacle well in Alice in Wonderland). That should have been my blip but I forgot my camera for once! The spaniel had not seen E since last December and went absolutely crazy.
