Under A Cold Control, Aylesford

When I saw this van parked in a car park in my village it immediately sparked my thought about the current crisis. Everything as regards Covid has become so centralised that we are now living under diktats and enforced laws rather than using joined-up thinking, local action and encouragements. If councils, authorities and public health bodies had been allowed to co-ordinate local, knowledge based test and trace we wouldn't be in this awful mess and have a second wave approaching us like an unstoppable juggernaut. "Following the science" is now not mentioned at all and the trust in the government's handling of it all has disappeared down the drain. We seem to be making the same mistakes all over again.
Sometimes the alternative feels as if it lies in the extra image, even if for only a few fleeting moments of bliss.
