The Larches of Balavaud ....

.... have taken on their autumn glow after a couple of frosty nights. These larches are so famous as some are between 500 to possibly 1000 years old. This one may be about 600 years old (same tree in first extra, looking up). The oldest tree in Europe is here, and is looking a bit tatty with missing branches and a protective fence around it (2nd extra). It existed before Switzerland came into being in 1291, now that’s a thought!

Hope you had a good weekend and have also been lucky with the weather. Thanks so much for placing yesterday’s Champex Lake on the first Popular Page and to Rachel who suggested meeting there.
