A fine dry, (mostly) day, and at last I had time to do some leaf clearing.

I found this collection of worms on the rim of the compost bin. Wondered why they are there and not deep in the compost doing their thing, but didn't feel inclined to move them.

Out of interest, I looked up the collective name for worms. It's a clew. The same word is used in Shetland for a ball of yarn.
