The formal gardens at the rear of Chatelherault House

The designer of the original gardens is unknown but archaeologists discovered the formal layout of a bi-symmetrical scroll pattern laid out with box hedges and plant species available in Scotland in the 1740’s

The house and gardens were restored in 1987
