Itchycoos or Rosehips

I blipped a few images of Dog Rose's when they were out - waxing lyrical about their smell (the smell of childhood for me).

Those flowers become these. In English, they are rosehips. In Scots, itchycoos.

I lived in real fear of an opened one being put down my back in childhood. It was supposed to drive you crazy with the hairy, white seeds itching and scratching you to distraction. Closer inspection and from the distance of adulthood, they seem innocuous.

Thought I'd close the cycle of life on these when I came upon this lovely display.
