A Square (and Prayer) of a Squirrel

"I give thanks to that guy,
who lives in this hut.
He drove 5 miles away,
to bring me home hickory nuts."

"I'm glad that he provided me,
with this chair of blue.
And as long as he gave me nuts,
could I get a nutcracker, too?"

"Hickory nuts, along with peanuts,
it was one of my better days.
But, as long as I'm in a praying mood...
could he keep away the jays?"

A beautiful gold rodent,
I'm going to name him Dale.

but I really do like his tail.
