Here & There

A big mouthful

A better day fishing today, though many more undersized snapper than legal keepers. The pied shags have become extremely clever....hanging around the back of the boat they appear quite uninterested in the bait as you drop the line, but as soon as you reel in, they are right there. They are after the undersize catch that we are obliged to throw back. A fake toss in one direction while throwing the fish the other way doesn't always work and they are quick to grab the somewhat dazed and compromised fish before it can swim safely to the depths. Amazing learned behaviour. And amazing too to see the size they can swallow whole. They must have a robust digestive system for all the bones and scales ... the lot!

So back in to the marina tonight, it's been a good weekend out, and pleased with improved performance of the boat with fresh anti-foul.

Have posted some back-blips from the recent few days.
