Pumpkin Time

Out again this morning on our goldfish search and no luck yet again but we’ve been told to try again next week. Watch this space!
I decided I’d better do something with the pumpkin before it started to rot away. We’ve ended up with a huge, hollowed out shell ready to accept a candle and some carving, two bags of roast pumpkin purée in the freezer, two buckets of fresh pumpkin in the fridge, a huge pot of soup and a pot of seeds to be boiled and roasted tomorrow. The soup was a bit of a challenge, trying to get some flavour and oomph into it, but I managed in the end. The addition of a pot of mashed potato plus serving it up with cheese and yogurt eventually did the trick. Just as well, we’ll get another three meals out of it!
