'tis the season of dark and wet walks home

Daughter C had her PCR test for covid-19 today. Should get the results tomorrow. Meanwhile the daughter of a friend with whom I shared an office until recently has tested positive so the whole family is now isolating.

On Sunday, perhaps rashly, we booked a bungalow for Christmas week in the Canaries, with direct flights from and to Asturias. For the last 20 years we've always spend part of the Christmas with the in-laws. Father-in-law passed away a few years ago and mother-in-law passed away this spring. So a complete change of scenery for Christmas would boost morale. Whether it will actually happen is another matter. The airline in question has today cancelled all flights from Asturias until the end of November. Maybe we'll just stay home and get quietly sozzled.
