Machetes

A Blip from the workshop. These two little instruments are machete de bragas (or should that be machetes de braga?), waiting to be finished. Apparently they're traditional instruments in Portugal, thought to be the predecessor of the ukulele. MrM's making one for a local lady, but he almost didn't get the commission, as it came via an email headed simply "machete". I assumed it was spam and almost deleted it - we don't deal in dangerous weapons!

Spent most of the afternoon reading through some information and filling in an application form for a bank account. Our bank has been bombarding us with letters pointing out that we could 'switch' our business account to another bank, and receive quite a large incentive to do it.  Apparently it's part of a scheme to increase competition in UK business banking, but we suspect that they're happy to jettison us as they're hardly likely to profit from our account! Anyway, it would be stupid not to...

PS. Looking back on Blip shows me that exactly a year ago MrM and I went down to Newcastle, for a brilliant concert by Big Big Train. They opened with this, and sometimes I play it very loudly - it seems very life affirming, especially in uncertain times
ALIVE!
