A day of 2 halves

Cycled along the Hornsea Rail Trail (part of the Trans Pennine Trail) from Hull to the coast.

It was overcast but pleasant cycling weather on the way out. There was a bit of a sea fret in Hornsea but we were still able to sit outside a cafe for some breakfast and have a little tootle around the town. I wanted to see Bettison's Folly with its treacle bricks. It was interesting but looks rather strange stuck in the middle of newly built houses.

The weather turned in the afternoon and it was a very wet, windy, wild ride back to Hull. Got absolutely soaked to the skin but it was worth it and it was 30 miles in total which I was quite proud of.

Had a hot shower, takeaway pizza and a ridiculously early night... was asleep by 9:30!

Blip was taken at the end of the Trans Pennine Trail, on the seafront at Hornsea.
