Autumn Colours on a Gray Day

Thanks to our best friend Heidi, mum pulled herself together (she wanted to stay on the sofa and eat cinnamon buns) and we went to the bird lake with the gravel path right down the middle. We haven’t been there for quite some time, and it’s a great place to look at beautiful autumn leaves and also to check the bird population.

It was wet and also a bit muddy because it’s been raining lately, mostly during the nights. But we set out bravely, and enjoyed our walk. There were one pair of swans and a few ducks left, everyone else had already migrated south.

We usually have a picnic on top of a great rock, but it really was too wet today. But there were benches we could’ve sat on! Not today. Sigh. The forest part was wonderful as usual. We met a man who was picking wild mushrooms. And I explored wild boar diggings - exciting! On the whole, a great eleven o’clock walk!
