We had a dry day :-))))))))

Managed to do a bit of tidying up in the garden and brought in fresh carrots and chard to go with the leftover coq au vin.

Made some caramelised onion jam this afternoon, yummy with cheese.  Last Tuesday I bought 5 kg of large onions for €1.45.  Mr C is sure they marked it up wrong but that is not my problem!

My chard recipe:- chop up the stems and gently fry them with some butter and chopped chilli chorizo.  When soft add the chopped green leaves for a couple of minutes until they have wilted.  Add 2 to 3 large tablespoons of creme fraiche and freshly ground black pepper. Stir until heated through and serve immediately.  Delicious.
