Six Spots

In the field beyond the Playing Fields and park, lies a large arable field where Skylarks rise from between the crops in summer. At the edge, although still a generous area, the farmer has left to grow wild. Amongst the various plants, Birdsfoot Trefoil and Field Scabious abound. I discovered once returned from our dog walk and with the aid of a search engine (Duck Duck Go) that the first plant is the food of the caterpillar and the second of the striking adult Six Spot Burnet Moth and there were hundreds of them!
