Berry Head

Good afternoon spent at Berry Head starting with lunch in the Berry Head Hotel - after a lunch we walked to Berry Head - home of one of the highest lighthouses in England -190' above sea level and also one of the shortest - On Berry Head is situated a Fort built 1795-1805 to protect the coastal area from the possibility of French invasion to the best of my knowledge the fort was never used in angry

The Guardhouse is now a cafe - a welcome refuge on the very exposed headland of Berry Head

Looking seaward many cruise liners can be seen moored in the bay a sad sight indeed their future very uncertain

Many folk today were enjoying the open air and the great feeling of the connection with the wide expanse of the open sea and land - a great afternoon and a memory to be stored away in these uncertain days of the future

Stay positive and enjoy each day
