Spinning Lake

For a respite from the political scene, Becky, Carolyn and I went for a hike alongside a singing creek to Spinning Lake. Our trail took us amongst noble fir, larch trees, Engelmann Spruce, and mountain hemlock, Beneath our feet pine cones, and soft duff. In the forest the staccato song of nuthatch, croak of Raven, flutter of small birds. The miracle of an old growth forest and the dignity of silence.
