Out of Season

The weather today was decidedly seasonal, gales and heavy rain for much of the time.   The dog got a morning walk before the worst set in and I spotted this out of season flower on Primula halleri in a trough in the front garden.   A flower now does not necessarily bode well for the plant surviving the winter, ideally it forms fat resting buds at ground level, the leaves mostly dying away, with the flower stem appearing after new leaves in spring.

A day for indoor jobs.  The kitchen saw most of the action, a long overdue sort out of things that had not found a permanent home.   The recent trip to the old house saw a few more things arriving so this was especially necessary now.   In truth, the same applies to most of the house and with a lot more stuff yet to arrive, I shall be putting the rest of the Welsh firebreak lockdown to good use!
