Pear rust!

Although I had noticed the bright orange spots on some of the leaves of our pear tree I had not really looked at them properly until I was sweeping up the wet leaves. They actually looked very pretty!
The pear rust is caused by a fungus which causes the bright orange spots on the upper surface and then as the summer progresses brown, gall-like growths develop on the underside of the leaf...see the left hand leaf in the blip.
The pears were unaffected and we had a fairly good crop.
