Fossum bridge and Glomma river

Just a short drive from my home :-)

Built 1856.

129 Norwegian soldiers fought here against the Germans 12. April 1940. The battle was intense and courageous, but alas the bridge was surrendered on 13. April and Norway was occupied for 5 years.

Glomma river is the longest river in Norway (and Scandinavia). It has
 a course of 619,9 km (372 miles).
