Here we go... Again

So the lockdown announcement at the weekend hit me pretty hard.

I was OK until I discovered it would mean my birthday is in lockdown but then that was OK because the rest of birthday week we would be out again. Now there is the prospect that it may be extended.

While I've held off booking anything I think I have been pinning my hopes on giving Little Mouse as normal a birthday as possible. This was going to be our chance for a slice of normal.

I feel sad that his social needs haven't really been met this year, I feel that children outside of formal education and child care have been forgotten about. We are even discussing putting him into nursery just so he gets a chance to play with other children and socialise.

I know for some people they might be shocked that at almost 4 he has never been to nursery or pre school but it was a decision we made and we are keeping an open mind about school. Personally I think we would both be more comfortable home schooling but not sure we could get the logistics to work for us.

Anyway today was flu vacinaton day. I declined it last year becuase I felt he was too little and I wasn't well so didn't want the extra risk with it being a live vaccine for children. But this year my immune system is being well behaved and I've even managed to have my flu vacination and well any little bit of immunity boost at the moment is fine by me. He was very good, I explained on the way to the doctors that he was having some special medicine and it would be going up his nose and that afterwards we would go to Greggs and get a sausage roll.

It's amazing what a promise of a sausage roll will achieve.
