Awaiting the green shoots of spring

These trees were pollarded last week. I think it will be a relief when we're over the winter and the green shoots appear next spring.

Today the Asturias government announced toughened the restrictions. From Wednesday the night-time curfew starts two hours earlier at 10pm. All hospitality establishments, including bars and restaurants and other 'non-essential' commercial establishments must remain shut for the following fortnight.

For the time being we're not locked down to home, only because the power to do so isn't available under the current national state of emergency powers.

I've got my emergency supplies. A bottle of Rioja, another of Ribera del Duero and a half bottle of Dewars. The latter will probably take a hammering as I watch the results of the U.S. election come in. Once those are finished I may have to resort to rummaging through all those weird bottles at the back of the cocktail cabinet.
