Ripples

High winds overnight and throughout the day, and cold with it, did not make for a pleasant walk outside, which was not the impression the sunshine gave from looking out of the window. The fairly tame ripples shown in the main image were only because I managed to find a more sheltered spot.

The effect of the ripples on the water surface was very appealing. There must be a word for the type of glass which produces that kind of distortion. I recall seeing it in front doors to obscure the view of the interior.

Golden light on the log and water contrast nicely with the patches of reflected blue sky. The foreground is a little soft from the telephoto focal length and angle of view.

Extra: Choppy Waters. More accurately reflects the conditions today.
